My research focuses on unraveling how microbes shape the planet’s chemistry.
I investigate microbial signatures in lakes, the ocean, ancient sedimentary rocks, and experimental laboratory incubations where I can see the process in real time.
I bridge geology-biology by creating interdisciplinary datasets, ranging from molecular (16S rRNA, PCR, microbial cultivation, and manipulations), isotopic geochemistry (C, N, S, Sm/Nd, U/Pb, Fe) and mineralogy/petrology (microscopy, SEM, XRD), reflecting my holistic approach to solving scientific questions.
